College of Graduate Studies
The decision is made at the time of the student's admission into the program, so there is no chance to change or upgrade the award type after you accept the award offer of tuition waiver.
On the other hand, there are other opportunities to support the graduate students financially by applying for part-time positions such as Graduate Research Assistantships (GRA) or Graduate Teaching Assistantships (GTA), or Graduate Administrative Assistantships (GAA) through their colleges. More information in this link: https://www.uaeu.ac.ae/en/cgs/scholarship.shtml
Currently, there is no postponement for admission. If the students did not register in the semester in which they were admitted, their acceptance will be cancelled, and they have to apply again for the program in the next admission intake.
There is a request for a leave of absence on the Service, but this option is only available for students who have already completed at least one enrolled/active semester during their studies in the graduate program. In case the students missed this deadline for leave of absence, then they have to contact the Assistant Dean's Office for Graduate Studies in their college.
The fees are paid online, and for any updates on the payment process or deadline, the student can visit this link https://www.uaeu.ac.ae/en/cgs/fees.shtml or directly contact the Student Accounts Office at Student_Accounts@uaeu.ac.ae
The duration studies for Full-time and Part-time students are the following:

- Master Programs: 2 - 4 years.
No.
Yes, because the student must complete the exact number of credit hours required by the program. In case some courses are not available, the students must follow the advice of the supervisor to replace the course with an alternative.
Yes, but determining the semester and arranging the Comprehensive Examination depends on the student's supervisor, as the students should be in good academic standing and have completed the required coursework.
Every PhD student must pass a Comprehensive Examination designed to evaluate the breadth and depth of the student’s knowledge of his or her discipline, as well as the student’s scholarly potential. The Comprehensive Examination is non-credit rated, while a Pass or Fail result for each attempt will be recorded on the student’s academic transcript. Each College/Department may set its own timing for this Comprehensive Examination, but it is in no case to be taken any later than the beginning of the student’s fifth semester. A second unsuccessful attempt leads to the immediate termination of the student’s enrollment in the PhD program.
Yes, but you will be responsible for paying the whole tuition fee for the program.
The UAE University has its policy and procedures for the Article-based dissertation that students must follow to ensure the high-quality standard of submitting the research dissertation.
For the article-based doctorate dissertations, the journal article reprints must be related and must address the objectives of the student’s planned research work. The document must be a cohesive body of work, i.e. a report of a single research program. Careful selection of journal article reprints and convincing introductory and concluding chapters are required in order to show how the articles relate to each other and contribute to the main theme of the dissertation according to the approved Research Proposal. Review articles cannot be included in an article-based dissertation. To qualify for using the article-based dissertation template, the student must get prior approval from CGS by submitting the 3 (or more) articles for which he/she is the primary author.
