Beneficiaries of the main library lending service are entitled to borrow books as follows: The duration of borrowing books depends on the categories, so please see the link .

Users may renew their borrowed items:

• Online at the library website under Quick links - My Library Account, this service is available 24/7
• By e-mail to: circ_lib@uaeu.ac.ae 
• By telephone to any Loans Desk. 
• Attending in person to the library’s lending office – or via Self-check machine using electronic university cards or entering (university number, PIN (last four digits of the university number).

Exceptions: An item will not be renewed if

• It has been placed on hold by another user
• It is requested for Course Reserves
• It has already been renewed the maximum number of times
• The user has accumulated fines

Using Library Collections

Library visitors may benefit from the printed collections by viewing and partial copying but are not permitted to borrow them.

Library Membership

The United Arab Emirates University Libraries provides the membership service for individuals from outside the university allowing them to benefit from library services including book borrowing, library facilities and other features.

Subscription Request Instructions

• Pay an amount of AED 1000 as a refundable deposit in case of cancellation of membership.
• Pay 100 dirhams as a subscription fee.

• If the customer is a member of the community:
  
  
  • A copy of Emirates ID.
  • Personal Photo
  • International Bank Account Number (IBAN) certificate
    
    
• If the customer is an Institution: (It is required that there be an agreement between the university and the institution)
  
  
  • A copy of the Emirates ID of the organization’s representative.
  • An authorization approved by the institution requesting membership to its representative.
  • A list of the names of participating individuals.
