UAEU Celebrates Flag Day Affirming Pride in National Identity and Loyalty to the Leadership

In the presence of H.E. Zaki Anwar Nusseibeh, Cultural Advisor to the UAE President and Chancellor of the United Arab Emirates University (UAEU), the university celebrated Flag Day in the Flag Hall on the university campus. The event was attended by H.E. Prof. Ahmed Ali Al Raeesi, Vice Chancellor of United Arab Emirates University, along with faculty members, administrative staff, and students from various colleges.

During the ceremony, the UAE flag was raised on the university’s flagpole as the national anthem was played and sung a scene that embodied the values of unity, belonging, and pride in national identity, reflecting the spirit of loyalty and dedication to the nation’s wise leadership.

On this proud occasion, H.E. Zaki Anwar Nusseibeh affirmed that “Flag Day is a living symbol of our nation’s union and the original values upon which the UAE was established. It stands as a testament to a journey rich in achievements and represents the aspirations of the UAE’s people for a more flourishing and prosperous future.”

His Excellency added that the flag stands as a symbol of national identity and belonging, expressing the nation’s journey of glory and renaissance, and uniting the youth of the UAE under its proud colors. Beneath this fluttering banner, the meanings of loyalty and belonging to the homeland are deeply rooted, as collective efforts continue to strengthen the country’s position regionally and globally. He emphasized that the flag flying high above us represents unity founded on strong principles of solidarity and the noble values instilled by the UAE’s Founding Father, the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan. At UAEU, we reaffirm our commitment to advancing the national mission of nurturing people, fostering knowledge, and empowering youth to be active partners in shaping a future worthy of a flag that soars with pride and dignity across our nation’s sky.

H.E. Ahmed Ali Al Raeesi, Vice Chancellor of United Arab Emirates University, stated: “UAEU’s celebration of Flag Day affirms its strong belief in the role of higher education institutions in strengthening national values and enhancing the spirit of belonging among new generations. Through our national educational mission, we are dedicated to preparing cadres capable of serving the UAE and raising its flag high in the fields of progress and leadership. We achieve this through an academic environment that fosters positive patriotism and accountability, and that promotes knowledge, research, and innovation to support the UAE’s journey toward a more sustainable and prosperous future.”

The ceremony concluded with the renewal of the pledge to continue the path of progress under the banner of the Union, reaffirming UAE University’s commitment to its national role in preparing skilled professionals, advancing knowledge, and supporting the comprehensive development of the United Arab Emirates.
