Intellectual Property and Patents

UAE University has an excellent Intellectual Property (IP's) portfolio. Since 2007, the University continued to achieve a remarkable increase in the number of filed applications reaching more than 445, of which more than 220 patents have been granted as of October 2022.

In 2021 only, 33 patents were granted from the US patents and Trademark Office and 10 other patents were granted from other countries. Based on the number of filed patents in 2021, the UAE University was ranked first in the country and 90 at the global level.     

To file a new Patent, a written disclosure of the invention should be submitted. In the disclosure, the inventors must commit to cooperate in the preparation of the patent application.
