In its First Cycle


UAEU has participated at the “Emirates Agriculture Conference and Exhibition 2025”, hosted by the Ministry of Climate Change and Environment, under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President, Deputy Prime Minister, and Chairman of the Presidential Court. The conference took place at ADNEC Centre Al Ain in Al Ain City from May 28–31, 2025.

Prof. Dr. Mohammed Al Yafei, Acting Dean of the College of Agriculture and Veterinary Medicine, said, “The participation of the College of Agriculture and Veterinary Medicine at UAEU in this momentous event embodies the university’s leading role in supporting research, innovation, and sustainability in the field of food security. The College showcased its latest research and practical projects aimed at developing effective and innovative solutions to agricultural challenges in arid environments, enhancing the University’s role as a leading hub for sustainability and agricultural innovation in the UAE."

He added, “This conference and exhibition is a strategic platform for exchanging knowledge and expertise, and for showcasing the latest innovations and technologies in smart and sustainable agriculture, supporting the country’s direction toward expanding local production and achieving environmental sustainability.”

UAEU’s platform at the conference represented an exceptional opportunity to present innovative projects and practical research models by researchers and faculty members. The platform also showcased a number of student-led initiatives advanced by the College of Agriculture and Veterinary Medicine at UAEU. Among these were the “Smart Livestock Capsules Project: An Innovative Approach for Sustainable Animal Agriculture and Food Security in the UAE”, and the “Innovative Model for Desert Land Reclamation Using Nature-Based Solutions and Smart Technologies”. Another featured project was titled “The Effect of Root Pruning on Hydroponic Plant Growth and Opportunities to Use Roots as Food – Improving Growing Conditions and Carbohydrate Sources”. In addition, the platform presented the “Classification and Evaluation of Common Date Palm Pollinators to Achieve a Sustainable and Robust Production System to Face Climate Change”, the “Sustainable Production of Microgreens Using a Sand-Based Hydroponic System in Dry Environments”, and the “Effect of Supplementing a Mixture of Medicinal Plants and Algae in Drinking Water on the Growth and Digestive Health of Broiler Chickens”. These, along with many other innovative projects, highlighted the university’s commitment to advancing sustainability, research, and innovation in agriculture.
