The United Arab Emirates University Strategic Partners Forum Discusses the Future Labour Market Challenges and Opportunities

In the presence of H.E. Zaki Anwar Nusseibeh, Cultural Advisor to the UAE President and Chancellor of the United Arab Emirates University, the University conducted the “Strategic Partners Forum” of 2024 with the vast participation of representatives from ministries, government and private institutions in the country. This year, the forum addressed the future labour market challenges and opportunities, the impact of technology, and the importance of developing the necessary skills to support economic growth and innovation.

During his opening statement, H.E. Zaki Anwar Nusseibeh affirmed the importance of strategic partnerships in enhancing the quality of education and scientific research in the country. Stressing that the United Arab Emirates University continues its efforts towards achieving leadership and excellence in all areas and in collaboration with its partners in the public and private sectors. Believing in the strength of effective partnerships in building a bright future for the community, in light of current challenges which requires concerted efforts to find innovative solutions to these challenges.

H.E. noted “this annual forum presents a platform for communication and vision exchange and to emphasize our commitment to create a sustainable educational and research future to the UAE, and to provide active community contributions and to work on improving the competitive capabilities by promoting scientific collaboration and innovation and providing a motivational environment for entrepreneurship and developing alumni skills in line with the future labour market.”    

The Strategic Partners Forum witnessed a panel discussion on “Future Labour Market” which addressed a number of key axes on the future labour market, the impact of technological acceleration on employment development, effectiveness in polarization, and labour market necessary skills.  H.E. Dr Mohamed Yousif Baniyas, Higher Education Advisor and Director of the National Qualification Centre and the Commission for Academic Accreditation at the Ministry of Education, and H.E.  Tariq Al Hashimi, Acting Assistant Undersecretary for the Advanced Technology Sector at the Ministry of Industry and Advanced Technology (MoIAT), and Prof. Ahmad Ali Murad, the Associate Provost for Research at the United Arab Emirates University participated at the panel which was moderated by the media figure Shahad Al Abdouli.

H.E. the University’s Chancellor, honored the strategic partners at the end of the forum, in recognition of their efforts to support the university’s strategic vision towards achieving leadership and innovation in higher education and scientific research and to serve the community nationally and internationally.
