sustainability, addressing the 13th Sustainability development goals (Climate Action) and the 7th goal (clean and affordable energy) within its strategic plan and in collaboration
with Symbiosis International University of the Republic of India. Each research project
consists of two students and a faculty member as a supervisor from each university,
with a total of six members per project, with three projects being funded for the
College of Engineering and two projects for the College of Information Technology.
For his part, Professor Dr. Ahmad Ali Murad, Co-Deputy for Scientific Research emphasized that these student projects are part of the University’s international efforts in building strategic partnerships which contribute to enhancing the University's international reputation. These projects are also the University's commitment to supporting international cooperation-based scientific research and to building on global best practices in education and scientific research. In turn, it contributes to the refinement of scientific research skills and constructive scientific debate among university students. These research projects also emanate from the Student Sustainable Development Goals Research Program, launched in 2022, and we are now in the third cycle, which focuses on the international cooperation with major global universities.
Dr. Ahmed Mourad also noted that the University prioritizes strategic partnerships with international universities, especially in critical areas and sectors of national priority, and clarifies that through its active contribution to the achievement of the UN's sustainable development goals, the UAE University supported initiatives and projects in line with this ambitious vision. The Research projects focus on the application of artificial intelligence and machine learning in renewable energy such as photovoltaic and wind energy, carbon dioxide capture, carbon sequestration, etc. The duration of the project will be eight months and at the end of the project, a research symposium will be held to present the project's results and to develop these projects to an advanced stage of research work.
