College of Medicine and Health Sciences of the United Arab Emirates University organizes the “Research Day” Forum

In collaboration with Mediclinic Hospital, the College of Medicine and Health Sciences
from the UAEU organized the “Research Day” forum to showcase the findings of the scientific
research of the graduate and undergraduate students, in the fields of Medicine and
Health Science. In the presence of several specialists, experts, teaching faculty
and students.
Prof. Ahmed Alsuwaidi, Acting Dean of College of Medicine and Health Sciences stated “research is an integral part of the medical education, it reflects the commitment to enhance the scientific research and the fundamental values of any organization. These various projects that our outstanding student’s showcase doesn’t only enrich the academic landscape but also possess the ability to form the future of healthcare. He added, this event is more than a project showcasing platform but is an active and vital forum for intellectual exchange and exploration.”
From his side, Dr. Mohamed Yousif Baniyas, Higher Education Advisor & Director of CAA made a presentation on “The Importance of Scientific Research: Quality of Scientific Education”. It discussed the importance of scientific research and innovation in building the knowledge-based economy through exploration, development leading and providing competitive advantage. Explaining that counting on research and innovation is critical and requires a sustainable long-term investment.
Prof. Tariq Shadad, Medical Director and General Director of Mediclinic Al Ain Hospital, discussed the “ Communications and Documentations ( Cornerstone of patient handling)” and touched on the concepts of scientific research, the role of hospitals in providing healthcare, documentation of patients medical files, the impact of technical and technological evolution in the age of the Fourth Industrial Revolution in the fields of medical files and documentation among a technologically advanced system.
Prof. Frank C. Howarth, from the Department of Physiology stated” the forum incorporates three sessions on (Biomedical Sciences, Clinical Sciences, Health Sciences) each session includes six presentations in addition to two sessions for scientific posters and medical innovations which includes more that 75 posters. The oral sessions and posters will present the latest scientific research conducted by the undergraduate and graduate students. Names of the “Best Presentation Award” and “Best Poster Award” and “Best Photo Award” will be announced at the end of the forum.”
