The United Arab Emirates University welcomed new faculty members for the 2024-2025 academic year, in a welcoming ceremony hosted at the Al Ain Rotana Hotel.

During the ceremony, H.E. Prof. Ahmed Ali Al Raeesi, Acting Vice Chancellor of the United Arab Emirates University, welcomed the new members who joined the university community and expressed his pleasure at their addition in his welcoming speech. He emphasized the crucial role that the teaching faculty plays in achieving the university’s vision and academic goals. H.E. also commended their continued efforts to promote an innovative and dynamic educational environment, develop scientific research, and provide high-quality education, which contributes to enhancing the university’s standing as a flagship institution nationally and internationally. He stressed the full support that the university’s higher management provides to the new faculty members to ensure their swift adaptation and success in their academic and research duties, and wished them all the best in their academic journey at the university.

Ms. Aysha Al Dhaheri, Director of Human Resources at the university, highlighted the important role of faculty members in advancing the educational process and enhancing the university’s standing both nationally and internationally. She added, “We at the Human Resources Department are committed to providing all necessary support to the new faculty members to ensure their success and swift adaptation to the university’s work environment.”                              

The university welcomed 29 faculty members, including 5 who joined the teaching assistant program, 9 lecturers, 37 visiting professors, and 7 adjunct faculty members. Additionally, the scientific research team has been strengthened by recruiting 3 distinguished researchers in the College of Engineering, College of Information Technology, and College of Agriculture and Veterinary Medicine, to support the university’s research strategy for 2023-2026.

The ceremony’s agenda included various activities, such as an introductory segment between college’s Deans and the new faculty members, providing an opportunity to meet the new faces and connect with new colleagues. Additionally, a presentation was given on the university's goals and future vision.
