UAE University holds a workshop on "Best practices to Achieve Sustainability at UAEU Campus"

As part of the innovative activities of the Conference of the Parties COP 28 and beyond 2023-2026, the UAE University, in cooperation with the Khadamat Facilities Management, held a scientific workshop on “Best Practices to Achieve Sustainability at UAEU Campus,” at the Al Furjan, within Green Zone, Expo City Dubai.

In the presence of Professor Dr. Ahmed Murad - Associate Provost for Research, representatives from universities, facilities management teams, students, employees, faculty members, and industry stakeholders, as part of the UAEU road map initiatives for its participation in COP 28 .

Professor Ahmed Murad - Associate Provost for Research, explained, “The UAE University works with partners to achieve the highest scientific standards and best practices to achieve a sustainable university campus. This workshop is a distinguished model in partnership with the private sector, to achieve common goals that serve our national priorities. The workshop aims to shed light on the best practices for conserving water and energy in academic institutions, housing, and student facilities. The workshop discussed many topics that provided smart solutions for a carbon-neutral service delivery model. It also presented a practical model of best practices that can be applied by universities and other institutions. It will ultimately lead to reducing the “carbon footprint” at the state level.

Engineer Ahmed Al-Atrash -General Manager of Khadamat Facilities Management- explained that

Khadamat Facilities Management works on many initiatives in the field of energy management in the campus, in addition to using smart solutions through technical and operational systems in FM services, also the best standards in ESG, assets and environmental management through technology and systems integration to achieve sustainable strategies for the future.

Khadamat Facilities Management presented a number of topics during the workshop: introducing the company and its vision, in addition to a number of innovative initiatives such as the “Energy Management Initiative” on campus, and waste management. Khadamat Facilities Management also reviewed “Smart solutions”, the latest technical and technological systems in service management, and the best practical and effective practices on asset management, environmental and social governance, innovation and technological integration, in addition to the sustainability and environmental control.
