BIOGRAPHY
Dr. Ahmed Hassan is currently an Assistant Professor in Department of Architectural Engineering , UAE University. He has a PhD in thermal management of building integrated photovoltaics (Mechanical Engineering) from Dublin Institute of Technology, Ireland and M.Sc. in Energy Systems Engineering from Aachen University of Applied Sciences Germany. His research interests are efficiency enhancement techniques for photovoltaic systems, Integration of passive cooling systems in buildings, development of novel passive cooling systems for high density heat release systems and green facade. He is currently involved in various internally and externally funded research projects in Building Integrated Photovoltaics, Application of phase change materials in buildings, Phase change cooling of IC packaging, Impact of education technology on indoor climate and assessment of green façade on energy performance of buildings. He has been involved in teaching Integrated Design Studio focusing on integrating passive and sustainable energy technologies in building design and Building Technical installations focusing on designing HVAC systems for buildings. He has supervised various graduation projects focused on sustainable energy technologies in buildings. He has presented his research in international conferences and is currently in process of publishing in international journals. He is currently reviewer of various international journals related to sustainable energy.
