BIOGRAPHY
Prof. Dr. Waleed Mohamed Reyan Hamza Aly El-Din
I have obtained my Ph.D. from Italy, 1994 in Aquatic Ecology (Union of Parma, Ferrara, Bologna and Roma La Sapienza Universities, Italy); I have then worked at Alexandria University (Egypt) and then with the United Arab Emirates University (UAEU) since 2000. Since 2001 until 2011 I have occupied two administrative positions 2001-2003 I was the Director of M.Sc. program in Environmental Science at UAEU. Also from 2002 until 2011, I was the Chairman of the Biology Department, Faculty of Science, UAEU.
I have been acted and still acting as principal investigator of different research projects in the field of Oceanography and Aquatic Ecology in Africa, Europe, and Asia. I have obtained research many grants during the last 7 years. I have organized different International conferences between Egypt, Italy, Finland, Canada and UAE. I have participated in more than 80 International, regional and local conferences. I have supervised and awarded different Ph.D. and M.Sc. degrees in Egypt, Switzerland, Italy and UAE in the field of Aquatic Ecology; I have > 65 peer reviewed scientific articles.
