The College is implementing the use of modern technologies in both teaching and learning through smart classrooms and online technologies. The pandemic of COVID19 has accelerated the process of online teaching, where different programs adjusted to the new circumstances and have used the available technology to deliver different courses online, and a few more courses have been developed for a hybrid mode of teaching. The College labs are equipped with state-of-the-art experimental setups and computer simulations to make sure that our students go through an experiential nature of laboratory-based coursework and field practical experience. Furthermore, our students are required to spend the end of the program 2 months of internship to prepare them for the job market.
One of the main strengths of the College of Science is its faculty members who come from different backgrounds with excellent education from well-known international universities and with high caliber research credentials. Besides their high-quality teaching, they engage in cutting-edge research and involve their graduate and undergraduate students in their research projects. The research labs of the College are equipped with state-of-the-art research instruments. Some of these laboratories are the Nano-Physics Research Laboratory, Genomic Analysis and Microbial Studies Laboratory, Central Analytical Laboratory, Inorganic Geochemistry Laboratory, Geophysics, and Seismic Laboratory, and the Museum of Living Resources and Geological Museum.
The College of Science has an extensive web of national and international collaborations, such as the membership of CERN in Geneva, Switzerland, and the research collaboration with the University of California Berkeley. These collaborations open up opportunities for our faculty and students to work on exciting scientific projects. Locally, the College collaborates with many institutions, such as the Ministry of Education, to serve the country and actively participate in graduating future scientists and leaders to effectively build a knowledge-based economy.
