• What software can I use to record myself and my slides?

We recommend using Panopto. This is a software which is used within Blackboard, and you can find out full details on its functionality here: https://www.panopto.com/features/

• How do I get access to Panopto?

Should you require a Panopto license, then please email CETL at cetl@uaeu.ac.ae and state which course you will be using the software for. This will then be processed and you will be informed when this license has been assigned to you.

• Do I have access to LinkedIn Learning?

Yes, all faculty have a license to access LinkedIn Learning. Simply login to https://my.uaeu.ac.ae/en/Pages/default.aspx with your UAEU ID and select LinkedIn Learning from the Apps Section.

• What is the process for starting to blend my course?

Each Semester the CETL department carries out a Blended Course Transformation Program, which consists of a 4 Week Training Program, assisted creation of blended course material and reviewing results of the transformation over an academic year. Should you wish to be a part of the next BCT Program, then please email CETL at cetl@uaeu.ac.ae to express your interest.

• What software do I need to record my screen?

We recommend Screen Cast-O-Matic (https://screencast-o-matic.com/), which is a free piece of software to record your screen and also voice while you navigate to provide demonstration lessons.

• What software can I use to edit my videos?

We recommend using Shotcut (https://shotcut.org/), which is a free and intuitive video editing software that provides a basic but effective set of features to meet the vast majority of requirements.

• How do I become a faculty fellow?

To become a member of the Faculty Fellow program, please email CETL at cetl@uaeu.ac.ae and advise what topics you would be looking to facilitate in the Further Professional Development.

• How many FPD sessions can I provide as a Faculty Fellow?

Between 2 and 3, depending on the schedule and topics being covered.

• How do I access the e-textbooks?

E-Textbooks are accessible on your Blackboard site, however, if you experience issues, then please email CETL at cetl@uaeu.ac.ae.

• What can I use for Gamification?

To incorporate Game elements into your courses, there are several resources you can use to facilitate this. The most popular are Quizlet (https://quizlet.com/) and Kahoot (https://kahoot.com/).
