Visual Communication (Photography, Advertisement, Poster, Themed Design)
The use of images, graphics, and design elements to convey information, ideas, or message effectively and aesthetically. Submissions accepted in Arabic, English, or Both.
Judging Criteria
Creativity: Assesses the artist's ability to bring innovative and imaginative elements to their
visual communication. Judges may consider the following aspects:
- Concept: The originality and inventiveness of the central idea or message behind the visual
communication.
- Visual Language: The creativity in using visual elements, such as imagery, typography, color, and layout, to convey the intended message in a unique and compelling way.
- Audience Engagement: The ability of visual communication to capture the audience's attention and provoke a response.
Originality: How unique and distinctive the work is compared to other visual communications in
the same category. Judges consider whether the work's visual elements, message, and
design approach are novel and avoid clichés or overused design conventions.
Quality of Artistic Composition: Focuses on the organization and arrangement of visual elements within the work. Judges
assess:
- Visual Hierarchy: The effectiveness of design in guiding the viewer's attention to key elements and
the order in which information is presented.
- Layout and Grid: The use of a grid system and the overall structure of the design in creating a balanced
and cohesive composition.
- Typography: The choice and treatment of typefaces, the readability of text, and the harmonious integration of text with other visual elements.
Overall Impression of Art: The emotional impact and impression of the visual communication on the audience.
Judges assess:
- Emotional Impact: The strength of the emotional response evoked by the design.
- Memorability: Whether visual communication leaves an impression and effectively conveys its intended
message.
- Aesthetic Appeal: The visual beauty and overall effect of the design, including how well it aligns with the brand or message it represents.
