The committee furnishes the following definitions for practical application. Submissions
will be deemed acceptable in this category if they conform to the overarching structure
of these definitions.
Design is viewed as the artistic planning and execution of ideas where imaginative vision
meets realistic application. It requires having the capacity to devise action plans,
produce novel solutions, and prepare for significant consequences.
Craft is defined as a creative artistic activity that encompasses various techniques such
as construction, carving, weaving, and sewing, emphasizing technical skill and manual
dexterity. Craft may include contemporary expressions like mosaics, glass creation,
and decorative arts, which broaden the scope of artisanal work. This realm distinguishes
itself from drawing by its focus on tangible and tactile creations.
Architecture is the artistic discipline of construction, where the alignment of human needs and
building materials results in both functional utility and aesthetically pleasing solutions.
This art form entails the skillful management of spatial relationships, volumes, planes,
masses, and voids to create harmonious and purposeful structures.
The decisions made by the Juries will rely exclusively on the submitted materials;
there will be no visits or excursions to assess entries.
