Professor of Accounting
Earned his Ph.D. from the University of Manchester. He joined the CBE faculty at UAEU in 2001. He was the coordinator of the Master of Professional Accounting (MPA) program for seven years. He has taught various undergraduate and postgraduate courses and supervised Ph.D. and DBA students. He has served on numerous departmental, college, and university committees. Professor Aljifri has provided many professional, training, and consultancy services to governmental and private organizations.
He is highly experienced in organizational assessment with a strong background as a senior assessor and team leader in DQA-EFQM assessments. His research interests focus on Corporate Governance, Corporate Sustainability, Performance Measurement, Financial Reporting, Corporate Valuation, Earnings Management and Fraud, and Islamic Accounting and Finance issues.
Professor Aljifri has published in Business, Finance, and Accounting journals, including the European Accounting Review, International Business Review, Advances in Accounting, Managerial Auditing Journal, Journal of Applied Accounting Research, and Accounting Educator’s Journal. He is currently involved in major multi-disciplinary research projects investigating corporate sustainability, corporate governance, and balanced scorecard issues. During his service at UAEU, Professor Aljifri received the Best Awards in Teaching, Research, and Service at CBE more than once.
