Dr. Zienab Ahmed

Dr. Zienab F. R. Ahmed earned a Ph.D. degree in Horticulture physiology and biochemistry, from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, USA, in 2014. Dr. Ahmed worked as an Assistant professor at South Valley University, Egypt. She joined UAE University as an assistant professor in August 2019.
Dr. Ahmed has more than 12 years of teaching/research experience in the field of Horticulture. Her research interests are Horticulture crops production, propagation, post-harvest fruit physiology, and biochemistry, Developing sustainable horticultural crop production systems in a controlled environment greenhouse, Maximizing vegetable crop productivity in soil, soilless, hydroponics systems, Producing high-quality crops by sustainable approaches, Utilizing technology to facilitate crop propagation by seed (greening the desert), date palm pollination process and detect the pest infestations.
She is a PI for 3 internal/ external grants and 2 external grants. She has published more than 20 articles in the last 5 years. She is also serving as a reviewer for a number of international journals as well as a supervisor and examiner for master/undergrad student projects.
