The Emirati City of the future is envisaged as Smart, Sustainable, and Connected City on all urban levels: the Neighborhood, the District, and the whole City level. Smart Mobility is the essential means for achieving this vision. Smart Mobility links all urban segments of the city through sustainable forms of mobility including smart pedestrian mobility, smart micro-mobility, and smart public transport system, while avoiding the exiting heavy reliance on private cars.
For an existing neighborhood/district in Emirati City (Al Khibeesi, Al Ain), that is mainly connected inernally and to its urban surroundings through private cars networks, innovative Smart Mobility Solutions are required for:
- Smart, Safe, and Pleasant Pedestrian Mobility,
- Smart Micro-Mobility for Cycling, e-Scooters, etc., and,
- Smart, Accessible, and Convenient Electric Public Transportation
To undertake this challenge, an expected number of 15 to 20 UAEU students will be subsumed into 4 Teams, each with an academic advisor.
