It is the responsibility of all personnel, visitors or researchers to protect themselves and try not to disseminate infection to the unit by taking all the required measures before entering the animal holding areas. Please follow these steps to maintain healthy animal population and to protect yourself.
The facility maintains rodents, frogs, guinea pigs and rabbits for various research purposes. Though, RAF is not a commercial unit, we are capable of supplying adequate numbers of quality animals on request to the outside establishments for breeding and research purposes. Periodic health monitoring of the animals is carried out to ascertain the health status of the animals. In addition, feed and water analysis are carried out periodically for assessing their quality and contamination. Waste disposal is carried out through an environmental friendly incinerator. A dedicated team of well qualified and trained veterinarians/scientists and technical assistants, who are experienced in modern methods of animal care, breeding and husbandry manage the facility.
