Research Animal Facility
The different species of laboratory animals like mice and rats are being bred, maintained and supplied to researchers, as per the approval from the Institutional Animal Ethics Committee. The facility also maintains frogs, guinea pigs and rabbits for various research purposes. Though, the animal house is not a commercial unit, we are capable of supplying adequate numbers of quality animals on request to the outside establishments for the breeding and experimentation purposes only. Periodic health monitoring of the animals is carried out to ascertain the health status of the animals. In addition, feed and water analysis are carried out periodically for assessing their quality and contamination. Waste disposal is carried out through environment friendly incinerator. A team of well qualified and dedicated veterinarians/scientists and technical assistants, who are experienced and trained in modern methods of animal care, breeding and husbandry manage this facility.
