Credit-Bearing Micro-Credential in Smart Manufacturing and Robotics
The CBMC in Smart Manufacturing & Robotics is a 6-credit graduate credit-bearing micro-credential designed to equip learners with knowledge and practical skills in robotics, automation, smart manufacturing, digital manufacturing, and AI-enabled industrial systems. The CBMC emphasizes Industry 4.0 concepts including cyber-physical systems, intelligent automation, data-driven manufacturing, and digital transformation of production environments.
This CBMC originates from the Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering and complements courses in manufacturing, control systems, and mechatronics.
The CBMC is stackable towards the Mechanical Engineering degree, subject to UAEU admission requirements. Credits earned may be transferred upon formal admission.
Admission
Stackable towards MSc in Mechanical Engineering
- Admission requirements for current engineering undergraduate students
- Successful Completion of MECH 417 Kinematics design of machinery and MECH 433 Introduction to CAM
- Completion of 75 credit hours + minimum GPA (3.0) + IELTS 6.0.
- To stack towards an MSc. In Mechanical Engineering degree, students should achieve the admission requirements of UAEU Master’s programs
- Admission requirements for students with a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or related discipline (same admission requirements of UAEU Mater’s Programs)
Non-stackable towards a degree:
Targeted Students
- Senior undergraduate students enrolled in Mechanical Engineering or related engineering disciplines.
- Engineering graduates’ holders of a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or related engineering disciplines.
Program Objectives
- Provide learners with focused knowledge and applied skills in smart manufacturing, robotics, automation, and intelligent industrial systems.
- Prepare learners to analyze and improve manufacturing and automation processes using modern engineering tools.
- Develop learners’ ability to design and evaluate technology-enabled solutions that integrate robotics, digital manufacturing, and AI-enabled approaches.
- Equip learners with data-driven and digital competencies to support decision-making, operational efficiency, and industrial innovation.
- Enable learners to contribute to Industry 4.0 initiatives and the digital transformation of manufacturing systems.
Program Learning Outcomes
Upon successful completion of this program, students will be able to:
- Explain the principles and core technologies of smart manufacturing, robotics, and industrial automation
- Analyze the behavior and performance of automated and robotic systems used in manufacturing environments.
