Credit-Bearing Micro-Credential in Generative AI Systems Engineering
This graduate 6-credit CBMC equips learners with practical knowledge and applied skills in generative AI and the engineering, deployment, and operation of AI systems. It targets graduates and professionals seeking upskilling in production-ready AI, with emphasis on prompt-driven and multimodal applications, evaluation, deployment pipelines, scalability, governance, and responsible implementation. The CBMC is designed for learners interested in advanced digital services, enterprise AI transformation, and innovation priorities in the UAE. The CBMC is derived from the MSc in IoT and AI Engineering and is intended to be attractive to learners seeking focused graduate-level preparation in high-demand AI capabilities.
Admission Requirements
- •Applicants intending to stack the CBMC toward the MSc in IoT and AI Engineering must satisfy the applicable admission requirements of the College of Graduate Studies (CGS) and the MSc program in effect at the time of application. Please refer to the official CGS admission requirements at: https://www.uaeu.ac.ae/en/cgs/admission.shtml
- Applicants who do not intend to stack the CBMC toward a degree must hold a bachelor’s degree in computer engineering, Computer Science, or a related field with a minimum GPA of 2.5, or possess relevant industry experience acceptable to the offering department. Applicants must also have prior preparation in programming and in artificial intelligence and machine learning.
- A student may not be enrolled simultaneously in the CBMC and the MSc in IoT and AI Engineering. Accordingly, the following cases apply:
- A student may enroll in and complete the CBMC prior to enrolling in the MSc program.
- Additional preparation or departmental approval may be required in some cases.
Targeted Students
The CBMC is intended for graduate students and industry professionals in computing, computer engineering, artificial intelligence, data science, electrical engineering, and related disciplines. It is particularly suited to learners with prior exposure to programming and introductory artificial intelligence who wish to develop knowledge and practical skills in generative AI and AI systems engineering. The CBMC prepares learners to apply modern generative AI methods and to support the engineering, deployment, and management of scalable AI systems for real-world applications.
Program Objectives
- Develop advanced competence in generative AI models and methods for real-world applications.
- Prepare learners to design, deploy, and manage scalable AI systems using modern engineering practices.
Program Learning Outcomes
Upon successful completion of this program, students will be able to:
- Analyze modern generative AI systems, including their architecture, capabilities, and limitations.
- Design and implement generative AI workflows and scalable AI applications using appropriate tools, data strategies, and lifecycle practices.
