Credit-Bearing Micro-Credential in Environmental Risk and Impact Assessment
The Credit-Bearing Micro-Credential in Environmental Risk and Impact Assessment (CBMC-ERIA) provides core competencies in environmental impact assessment and risk analysis. It integrates regulatory frameworks, impact evaluation, probabilistic risk modeling, and techno-economic analysis to address environmental challenges. Artificial intelligence and data analytics are used as advanced tools to support modeling, prediction, and decision-making. The CBMC-ERIA targets current undergraduate students fulfilling the admission requirements of the CBMC-ERIA and learners holding a bachelor’s degree in a related discipline.
Admission
Current undergraduate students:
- Students should satisfy the admission requirements of the Bachelor-Master Accelerated Option
- Successful Completion of CIVL 270 – Introduction to Environmental Engineering and GENG 315 Engineering Economics
Holders of a bachelor’s degree in Civil/Environmental Engineering or a related discipline:
- Learners should satisfy the admission requirements of the UAEU Master’s Program
Non-stackable towards a degree:
- Learners should hold a bachelor’s degree in a related discipline and have at least one year of work experience following the completion of their bachelor’s degree. Such applications will be considered on a case-by-case basis.
Targeted Students
The CBMC-ERIA targets learners holding a bachelor’s degree in diverse fields, including civil, environmental, chemical, and related engineering and scientific disciplines, as well as meritorious UAEU undergraduate students who are willing to develop competencies in environmental risk assessment, impact evaluation, and sustainable finance, supported by data analytics and AI-based tools.
Program Objectives
- Equip students with interdisciplinary knowledge in environmental risk, impact assessment, and sustainable finance for complex engineering challenges.
- Develop students’ ability to apply data-driven and analytical approaches for risk-informed and financial decision-making in environmental systems.
Program Learning Outcomes
Upon successful completion of this program, students will be able to:
- Evaluate environmental risks and impacts using appropriate assessment methods.
- Analyze financial and techno-economic aspects of environmental engineering projects.
- Apply data analytics and AI techniques to model environmental and financial risks.
