Areas of Focus
The activities of the NWEC focus on the following areas:
- Research: Conduct high-quality innovative research activities related to water resources, energy, and environment.
- Consultation: Provide consultation services for governmental and private entities, associations, and businesses in the water and energy sectors.
- Knowledge & Technology: Transfer of knowledge and technology, innovation, and the provision of scientific and technological services to public and private institutions.
- Graduate Student Support: Involvement of graduate students on both Masters and PhD level in research projects.
- Funds & Grants: Administration and supervision of internal and external activities.
- Conferences: Organization of national and international scientific conferences.
- Public awareness: Building and raising the public's level of recognition and understanding of the importance and implications of water resources availability, uses, and sustainability.
The NWEC conducts theoretical and applied research and develops partnerships to better integrate and develop the water and energy sectors and, in the meantime to minimize the possible environmental impacts.
