Along the Golden Jubilee Celebrations
In the presence of H.E. Zaki Anwar Nusseibeh, Cultural Advisor to the UAE President and Chancellor of the United Arab Emirates University, and as part of its Golden Jubilee celebrations under the theme “Rooted Legacy… and a Promising Future,” the United Arab Emirates University inaugurated the “A Journey from 1976” Exhibition. Among the attendees were H.E. Prof. Ahmed Ali Al Raeesi, Vice Chancellor of UAEU, along with academic and administrative staff, in addition to members of Al Ain community.
The exhibition was held from 6–7 April 2026 at Bait Mohammed Bin Khalifa, as an initiative showcasing highlights from the university’s history spanning five decades. The exhibition reflects UAEU’s journey since its establishment as the first national university in the UAE, through a collection of historical photographs documenting key milestones, from the late H.H. Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan raising the university’s flag and announcing its inauguration in 1977, to the graduation of the first class, and leading up to its current academic and research achievements. The exhibition also highlights the university’s role in preparing qualified national cadres and supporting the UAE’s development journey.
H.E. Zaki Anwar Nusseibeh affirmed that this exhibition embodies a distinguished national journey to which UAEU has significantly contributed, through its vital role in shaping the Emirati individual and advancing a comprehensive and sustainable development system by offering high-quality education and research aligned with top global standards. His Excellency noted that this event reflects the enduring vision of the late H.H. Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, who placed education at the forefront of national priorities.
H.E. added that the university is celebrating fifty years of continuous giving and remains committed to strengthening its position as a leading national institution for knowledge and innovation, by preparing national cadres capable of shaping the future and contributing to sustainable development goals. He emphasized that documenting this journey serves as a motivation to enhance institutional excellence and strengthen future readiness, in line with the UAE’s vision and the directives of its wise leadership toward building a competitive, knowledge-based, and sustainable economy.
Hosting this exhibition is part of the Golden Jubilee Celebrations agenda, which includes a series of cultural and scientific initiatives and activities aimed at highlighting the university’s academic legacy and reinforcing its position as a leading academic institution at both regional and global levels.
