Overview
The College of Information Technology (CIT) is the youngest college at United Arab Emirates University (UAEU). It was established in 2001 and has earned a reputation for excellence in research and teaching. The CIT employs an outstanding team of international faculty, all of whom hold doctoral degrees and are recognized internationally for their contribution to research, innovation and education. There is also a team of Master’s degree qualified staff providing laboratory support, as well as a dedicated team of administrative and technical staff. The CIT is housed in a state-of-the-art facility, providing innovative, immersive learning technology and top-class laboratories.
The CIT is a world-class, student-centered institution that develops, delivers and continually improves IT programs in order to achieve and maintain international standards. Since 2010, the IT Program was accredited by the Computing Accreditation Commission (CAC) from ABET. ABET accreditation guarantees employer recognition of the quality of the CIT Information Technology Program and provides an assurance that the program meets international standards.
The CIT prepares students for jobs in the computing profession, or to continue on to graduate studies. The primary goal of the CIT is to produce graduates with the professional competencies and practical experience required in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Security and Information Technology.
Graduates of the CIT are employed in government and industry positions that serve the needs of the nation and contribute to advances in Information Technology in the UAE and wider region. CIT students have won numerous national and regional competitions and have received commendations from industry leaders worldwide. Many students are involved in undergraduate research. They have presented at international conferences and have published articles in major research journals.
