Project Description
Investigating central histamine and its influence on behavior in brain disorders including Alzheimer’s disease, schizophrenia and anxiety seems very interesting. Consequently, evidences revealed that ligands targeting central histamine H3 receptors (H3Rs) are considered potential therapeutic agents for the treatment of different brain disorders including cognitive impairments, and anxiety. Also, recent animal study revealed that blockade of H3Rs attenuates impaired social behavior, a finding that may also have implications for Autistic Spectrum Disorders (ASD). Therefore, evaluating the actions of most potent and selective H3R antagonists/inverse agonists on the animal model of ASD induced by prenatal exposure to VPA will be conducted.
