Project Description
Machine-to-Machine (M2M) networks are envisioned to connect steeply increasing number of smart devices to their management entities in the coming years. This project analytically and experimentally studies the resource allocation of M2M networks. It aims at providing a statistical tool to M2M network operators that helps in estimating the bandwidth required in order to satisfy the quality-of-service requirements of different M2M devices. The research project relies on constructing a testbed for experimentally validating the analytical results. The PhD student is expected to contribute to building the testbed and to conduct analysis and simulation. Experience with Linux configuration/programming and wireless networking is mandatory.
