Languages Tests
The Continuing Education Center (CEC) provides Arabic and English language tests to students, employees and all individuals for educational or employment purposes. CEC undergoes regular audit visits, which makes the center compatible with international testing standards.
Al Ain Proficiency Test
A standard linguistic test that measures proficiency in Arabic for its speakers. The tests are designed at the UAEU, in accordance with the scientific standards for the construction of language proficiency tests.
The test is available to all segments of the society, including the students. It offers the certificate (Al Ain for proficiency in Arabic language for its speakers) and its validity is for (3) years.
International English Language Testing System (IELTS)
The IELTS test was provided to the public in 2008. Since then, CEC has provided the test to thousands of candidates. The IETLS testing center at CEC is the largest testing center in the UAE and is capable of testing more than 500 candidates in one sitting. The International English Language Testing System (IELTS) is designed to assess the language ability of candidates who need to study or work where English is the language of communication.
Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL)
The TOEFL ITPand TOEFL iBT® tests are used for separate purposes, and administered differently:
The TOEFL iTP® - Institutional Testing Program - tests are paper-based and use academic and social content to evaluate the English-language proficiency of non-native English speakers and is only suitable to those who want to measure their English level for personal reasons or within an academic context, to boost a job application or even to assess the effectiveness of an English language course.
The TOEFL iBT® - Internet Based Test - measures your ability to use and understand English at the university level. It also evaluates how well you combine your reading, listening, speaking and writing skills to perform academic tasks. More than 10,000 colleges, agencies and other institutions in over 130 countries accept TOEFL scores & more than 30 million people from all over the world have taken the TOEFL test to demonstrate their English language proficiency.
