English Courses

Students are considered for exemption from all English courses if they achieve one of the following conditions:

• Cohort 2017 & before must have achieved the following minimum scores: 500 in TOFEL ITP, 61 in TOFEL IBT, 5.0 in IELTS or 1100 in EmSAT English
• Cohort 2018 & after must have achieved the following minimum scores: 525 in TOFEL ITP, 70 in TOFEL IBT, 5.5 in IELTS or 1250 in EmSAT English

Cohort 2019

• Students scoring EmSAT 1250 or above will be directly admitted to their college.
• Students scoring English EmSAT between 1100 and 1225 may be conditionally admitted to the university.
• ENGU 120 will be offered to all conditionally admitted students with EmSAT (1100 1150)
• ENGU 130 will be offered to all students who passed ENGU 120 and all conditionally admitted students with EmSAT English score between 1175 1225

Conditionally admitted status will change if students score EmSAT 1250 or equivalent, or pass the UAEU Exit English exam after passing ENGU 130

Cohort 2018

ENGU 120 EmSAT English (700 -1150)

ENGU 130 EmSAT English (1175 - 1225)

Cohort 2019

ENGU 120 EmSAT English (1100-1150)

ENGU 130 EmSAT English (1175 - 1225)
