The United Arab Emirates University Hosted the Academic Leadership Retreat 2024

On Monday, October 14th, 2024, the United Arab Emirates University organized the Academic Leadership Retreat in the presence of H.E. Zaki Anwar Nusseibeh, Cultural Advisor to the UAE President and Chancellor of the United Arab Emirates University, along with several academic and administrative leaders. The event took place at the Sheraton Rotana Hotel in Al Ain.
During his opening remarks, H.E. Zaki Anwar Nusseibeh emphasized that since its establishment in 1976 by the future vision of H.H. the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, the university has been a flagship of culture and a pioneering, comprehensive institution in the field of higher education in the UAE. He stated that the university strives to continue working towards being ranked among the top 200 global research universities, with the support of the nation’s wise leadership and the unity of its staff. He added “Our future lies in our shared commitment and determination to achieve leadership and excellence, grounded in our mission and inspirational vision.”
H.E. emphasized the importance of developing educational programs to meet future demands and keep pace with rapid global changes. He stressed the necessity of integrating artificial intelligence and modern technologies into the curriculums, especially since UAEU is endowed with state-of-the-art facilities and equipped with advanced technologies that foster creativity, critical thinking, and innovation.
The retreat reviewed future plans to develop academic programs that align with labor market demands, enhance scientific research productivity, and devise innovative solutions to global challenges, while also shaping a future vision for the university’s national and international rankings. Additionally, it discussed the roles of faculty members in contributing to the achievement of the university’s future plans by equipping students with the necessary skills and continuing to lead pioneering in scientific research."
