The College of Humanities and Social Sciences of the United Arab Emirates University Holds The Second Future Skills and Employability Forum

In the presence of Sheikh Dr. Mohammed Muslim bin Ham Al Amri, Chairmen of NZT LLC, Head of Shumookh Studies And Research LLC, and Deputy Chairman of Bin Ham Group, H.E Khalfan Belhoul, the Chief Executive Officer of the Dubai Future Foundation, H.E Ali bin Sebaa Al Marri, the Executive President of MBRSG, H.E Dr. Mubarak Al Shamsi, the Director General of ACTVET College of Humanities and Social Sciences, hosted “The Second Future Skills and Employability Forum” at the Crescent Building of the university’s campus, which aims to gather leaders from the sectors of education, government, manufacturing, and business to have effective discussions on the evolving trends in education and the rapidly changing landscape of talent acquisition and the necessity to equip students with the basic successful employment skills.
The forum shed light on a range of skills to increase the awareness of the crucial role it plays in enhancing employability opportunities. The forum also provides the opportunity to explore the future of education and employment opportunities to meet future needs. With the presence of a panel of government experts and speakers, members of the teaching faculty, and students.
Dr. Khawla Al Kabbi, Chairman of the Conference Organizing Committee noted, “with the advancement of technology and the expansion of globalization, the labour market requirements change rapidly, which highlights the importance of keeping pace with its changes and to support the practical skills education-based to strengthen the capacity-building competitiveness.”
Speakers addressed various topics, most notably a presentation on “Forming the jobs of tomorrow: visions from Dubai” presented by H.E Khalfan Belhoul. While H.E Ali bin Sebaa Al Marri, the Executive President of MBRSG gave a presentation entitled “Digital Age Adaptation: Strategies to Build the Skills of tomorrow” which aims to discover how individuals can develop these skills and stand ready for the challenges and opportunities the future will have. From his part, H.E Dr. Mubarak Al Shamsi discussed “The Future of Skills for Future Jobs.”
During the forum, the first session was held, entitled” Forming the Future of Skills-based Education” that aims to discover the education strategies to secure the future through equipping students to move through the technological advances effectively. Participants addressed the main aspects of the advanced education landscape and aligning the curriculums with tomorrow's requirements.
The second session was entitled “Exploring the future of Labour & enhancing students’ employability”. It addressed the main parts which aim to prepare students for the labour market. It also discussed several axes, most notably: expecting the scene of changing skills and its impact, stressing the integration of artificial intelligence to take advantage of students' employability.
The Forum was interspersed with a number of workshops, most notably the “Entrepreneurship Psychology: think like a businessman” and the “Geospatial prospects: GIS, remote sensing and industry harmonization” and the “How to create a professional online profile" workshop.
