One of the great strengths of the United Arab Emirates University (UAEU) is its ability to address the significant challenges that face today's modern United Arab Emirates, through the research activities of its faculty and students. Research at UAEU has contributed significantly to the country's development in many areas, ranging from water resources, petroleum resources, solar and other forms of renewable energy, to medical advancement as well significant social and economic activities.

Since the establishment of the UAEU, its faculty have engaged in research activities that have taken this university to a ranking of #251- 300 among Research Universities worldwide.
