The United Arab Emirates University organizes “CAVM Week 2024”

Under the theme of “Sustainability, Innovation and Entrepreneurship”

In the presence of a number of high-profile figures, experts and specialists in the fields of agriculture and veterinary medicine, universities and school students, the College of Agriculture and Veterinary Medicine of the United Arab Emirates University hosted the “CAVM Week 2024” under the theme of “Sustainability, Innovation and Entrepreneurship” from February 27th to 29th 2024. This important event aims to provide a platform for experience exchange, listening to new ideas, discussing the emerging issues in the fields of agriculture and veterinary medicine and enhancing sustainable development and supporting innovation in these vital sectors. 

Dr. Mohammed Abdul Muhsen Alyafei, Acting Dean, College of Agriculture & Veterinary Medicine assured the importance of this event in providing exceptional opportunities for students to communicate with leading companies and institutions in both the government and private sectors and to learn about the latest development and innovations in agriculture and veterinary medicine field. He noted” this event is a platform to showcase scientific research and studies that contribute to the development of the fields of agriculture and veterinary medicine at local and international levels.” 

Alyafei also pointed out the importance of organizing this event by the college, which comes to highlight the role of food, agriculture and livestock in enhancing food security, transferring knowledge, showcasing the best practices and technologies to achieve sustainability. Alyafei added “this event reflects the commitment of the United Arab Emirates University to enrich knowledge and share experiences among students and experts, and encourages building partnerships with educational institutions, organizations and companies to share experiences and expertise for the development of the food security system and the national economic diversity.” 

The event included workshops and lectures presented by a selection of experts and specialists, in addition to a gallery to showcase the latest technologies and innovative solutions in the field of agriculture and veterinary medicine. This year, the event focused on the future vision of agriculture, food sciences and veterinary medicine to cover crucial issues such as: food sciences, food security, in addition to Agriculture, horticulture, agribusiness, animal science and fisheries, as well as veterinary medicine.

The week witnessed a wide participation from leading institutions in the field, to share experiences and expertise and to showcase the latest innovations and sustainable solutions in the fields of agriculture and veterinary medicine.
