Application Procedures, Requirements and Deadlines

Nomination and Application

Incoming students are nominated by their universities to study at UAEU. The list of nominees is submitted by the partner university to the Student Exchange Unit office. The application documents are submitted to UAEU through the office in charge of student exchange at the partner university.

Academic Requirements

Language proficiency requirements: English language proficiency as demonstrated by a TOEFL score of  525  PBT, 70  iBT; or an IELTS score of  5.5.

GPA admission requirement: Minimum of 3.0 on a 4-point scale or through approval of the concerned college at UAEU.

Application Documents

Applications to study at UAEU should be submitted through the appropriate office of the partner institution. The application must include the following items:

1. Application form

2. Essay outlining the candidate's interest in studying at UAEU

3. One copy of the student's official transcript

4. Proof of English language proficiency (TOEFL, IELTS,…)

5. One passport copy (front page with picture and biographical information)

6. Four passport-size photographs 

7. One copy of the applicant s high school certificate

8. Curriculum Vitae of the applicant

9. Introductory statement form from United Arab Emirates University

Application deadlines:

• Fall Semester: March 31
• Spring Semester: October 30

Study at UAEU

Incoming exchange students are affiliated to the UAEU college which corresponds to their degree major specialization. They may enroll in all undergraduate courses offered in the Fall and Spring Semesters, except those offered by the College of Medicine and Health Sciences, on condition that they meet the course prerequisites. Student study loads at UAEU vary from 12 to 18 credit hours. The language of instruction is English. A limited number of courses are taught in Arabic.
