Developing a multidimensional brain computer interface for controlling multiple drones using electrical bio-signals (human thought and eye movements) to guide the quadcopters wirelessly
Dr. Belkacem plans to develop brain computer interface based on both of electroencephalography (EEG) and electrooculography (EOG). This BCI would be more practical human machine control system in term of real-time communication for a swarm of robots/drones to get an updated information or provide a real-time mapping information during the emergency response to the sandstorm. Using multiple drones requires multiple tasks, and hence multiple human operators, which will lead to coordination problem. Instead, a single operator using emerging brain-computer interface can control an intelligent swarm of drones or robots, and that can have many important applications in our daily life activities.
