The United Arab Emirates University Achieves 5th Place in QS Arab Universities Rankings 2025

United Arab Emirates University (UAEU) has been ranked 5th in the prestigious QS Arab
Universities Rankings 2025, marking a one-position jump from last year’s ranking and
further solidifying its position as a leading institution in higher education and
scientific research in the region, and emphasizing its central role in the Arab academic
landscape.
The QS Arab Region Rankings methodology is designed to address the unique challenges and priorities of institutions in the region, drawing on 10 key indicators. These include academic reputation (30%), employer reputation (20%), faculty/student ratio (15%), international research network (10%), web impact (5%), proportion of staff with a PhD (5%), citations per paper (5%), papers per faculty (5%), proportion of international faculty (2.5%), and proportion of international students (2.5%).
Commenting on the achievement, Acting Vice Chancellor Prof. Ahmed Alraeesi said, "The University’s jump to the 5th place in the QS Arab University Rankings 2025 marks a significant milestone in its journey towards achieving excellence and regional and international leadership. This recognition reflects the hard work and dedication of the entire university community, from faculty members and researchers to students and administrators, who are committed to providing a world class education that fosters innovation and meets future demands.”
He added, "This progress is not merely a ranking but a testament to the vital role the university plays in supporting the UAE's vision of building an advanced knowledge-based economy founded on creativity and scientific research. We are preparing future generations to face the challenges of tomorrow and lead development in various sectors."
Through this achievement, the United Arab Emirates University (UAEU) continues to strengthen its role as a hub for research and innovation in the Arab world, guided by a strategic vision aimed at addressing the knowledge and developmental needs of the UAE and the region.
