The United Arab Emirates University accomplished a remarkable milestone in the Times Higher Education Impact Rankings for 2024 on the Sustainable Development Goals, advancing by 100 positions to be ranked among the 201–300 positions globally. 

According to the Times Higher Education Impact Rankings, the university has demonstrated excellence in various fields; it was ranked among the 101–200 positions globally in different disciplines. The university particularly shined in SDG2: Zero Hunger, SDG6: Clean Water and Sanitation, and SDG10: Reduced Inequalities.

H.E.Prof. Ahmed Ali Murad, Acting Vice Chancellor of the United Arab Emirates University, stated that “This achievement reflects the university’s commitment to achieving excellence in the fields of education, scientific research, and community service. We are proud to be part of the global efforts to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals, as we always strive to promote our leadership position in the fields of academia and research.” 

H.E. Prof. Ahmed added: “The ranking of the university among the top 15 universities globally in SDG4 (Quality Education) and SDG17 (Partnerships for the Goals) of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals highlights our dedication to persistently striving towards achieving the university’s vision and aspirations of offering top-notch education through active international collaboration.”

The United Arab Emirates University was also ranked 62 globally in SDG7: Affordable and Clean Energy, reflecting the university’s efforts to support sustainability endeavors by increasing the use of clean energy. 

It is worth mentioning that the United Arab Emirates University was ranked among the 11 goals of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, demonstrating its proactive involvement in achieving both national and international sustainable development. 

This remarkable progress is a testament to the university’s consistent efforts to enhance its standing as one of the top academic institutions worldwide and an affirmation of its dedication to raising the bar for education, research, and community service in accordance with its aspirational vision.
