H.E Zaki Anwar Nusseibeh, the Cultural Advisor to His Highness the President of the United Arab Emirates and Chancellor of the UAE University, honored the patented teaching faculty innovators, researchers, and students of the year 2023 with a total of 24 patents. Including 20 from the United States Patent and Trademark Office, three from Japan and one from Korea.

H.E stated in his opening statement “Innovation is a crucial factor to achieve the national axes of the “We Are the UAE 2031Vision” which requires from us the true contribution towards building a diverse and flexible knowledge-based economy driven by skilled and competent individuals, enhanced by the best expertise to ensure the prosperity of the UAE.”

He noted, “The UAE University always seeks to support innovators and creative individuals to find innovative and sustainable solutions to many of the challenges that face the region and the country, thus enhancing its strategic vision as a comprehensive national research university which contribute to achieving leadership and excellence.”

For his part, Professor Dr. Ahmad Ali Murad, Co-Deputy for Scientific Research discussed the award-winning projects and patents and its progress and the efforts the teaching faculty make to generally elevate the scientific research which contributed to obtaining a high scientific value patents and the application of the academic outputs and development projects. Noting that the UAE University Research & Innovation 2023-2026 Strategy includes 5 main goals that will be achieved in through 14 days.

It is worth mentioning that inventors with 24 patents were honored from a total of 40 registered patents, under an 18 patent from the College of Engineering, 4 from the College of Science and 1 patent from both the College of Information Technology and the College of Medicine and Health Sciences.
