The United Arab Emirates University achieved first place locally, according to the ranking of universities on the Simago Global website for the year 2023, in six major areas: Agriculture and Biological Sciences, Economics, Econometrics and Finance, Medicine, Pharmacology, Toxicology and Pharmaceutics, Social Sciences, and Veterinary.
Prof. Ahmed Ali Murad, Associate Provost for Research and Chairman of the Global Ranking Accelerators Committee, explained that the UAEU, through its future strategies, is working to strengthen its position globally through initiatives that work to achieve qualitative leaps in the global rankings. The university has focused on supporting efficient and high-quality scientific research as a major engine in development and construction because of its great impact on the international academic reputation of the university, which in turn contributes to achieving leaps in the global ranking of the university.
Prof. Ahmed Murad stressed that this classification is the result of the joint efforts of all components of the educational system, including faculty members, students and researchers, for their various roles in supporting research production through research publication in the most prestigious international journals. This classification also reflects the quality of the research outputs of the main disciplines in which the university has made remarkable progress, as the university has worked to enhance its research outputs by providing the main capabilities for scientific research, excellence and leadership, such as infrastructure, the availability of researchers, the diversity of their specializations, and the various funding sources available to researchers, students and faculty members.
The UAEU is also working on enhancing effective international cooperation with a sustainable impact on the scientific community, as the university focuses on benefiting from cooperation with major prestigious universities to support research outputs, which in turn affects the scientific community.
