Dr. Hamad bin Sarai, Director of UAEU Libraries, attended the 20th meeting of the committee of deans and officials in charge of library affairs in universities, higher education institutions, and research centers in the GCC. The meeting included a review and discussion of the strategic plan 2021-2025 and ways to implement it. There was also an extensive discussion about the proposed joint work mechanisms and ways to develop them and make maximum use of them.

The Secretary of the Committee reviewed the project of creating a website for the Committee, which would be a link between its members and would display information about its activities, document its work, and include minutes of its sessions. The Secretary of the Committee mentioned the two projects under study by Umm Al-Qura University and the Arab Unified Index Center to create a knowledge resources platform for free access and the unified index of Gulf universities. At the end of the meeting, it was agreed to hold the twenty-first meeting in late June 2023.
