256 students participate in UAEU sustainable development exhibition projects

Zaki Nusseibeh, Cultural Adviser to H. H. the President of the UAE and Chancellor of the United Arab Emirates University, has reviewed the activities of the 1st sustainable development exhibition projects, which was organized by the university with the participation of 256 students, including 8 students from graduate programs in various colleges under the supervision of 56 faculty members. The exhibition addresses 4 sustainable development related topics. He was accompanied on the tour by Prof. Ghaleb Al Hadrami Al Breiki - Acting Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Mohammed Al Qasim Acting Provost for Academic Affairs Prof. Ahmed Murad Associate Provost for Research and a number of Deans of colleges and heads of departments.
Dr. Ahmed Murad stressed that the exhibition comes in its first cycle as an opportunity for students from various colleges to present the results of their scientific research. These researches aim to enhance the culture of giving to society, by solving societal challenges in various fields in an innovative scientific way, and promoting knowledge of the sustainable development goals, presenting joint solutions between students and faculty members, by providing support to those projects and revealing application of innovations in an innovative and creative way. He added, The first Sustainable Development Goals Research Program also aims to build students research skills in consideration of scientific research are future skills for the labor market.
He explained, "The first cycle this year focused on enhancing qualitative research culture, through 4 main sustainable development related themes, including 31 projects relating to the 11th goal sustainability of cities and communities, 10 projects relating to the 2nd goal, eradicating hunger, and 8 projects relating to the 1st goal eradicating poverty, and 7 projects relating 14th Goal 14 life under water.
