Under the patronage of His Excellency Saeed Ahmed Ghobash, Chancellor of the United Arab Emirates University, The College of Business and Economics at the United Arab Emirates University organized the "8th Asian Management Case and Research Conference - AMRC 2019" during 24-26/march 2019,  in collaboration with Lahore University of Management Sciences in Pakistan, Wollongong University in Dubai, the Indian Institute of Management Bangalore, University of Dhaka in Bangladesh, Graduate School of Education J Business Administration, the University Sains Malaysia, International and publisher of Global Research SAGE - India, a group of experts, scientists, researchers and specialists in the field of business management, strategic management, research and education from different countries of the world.

In its 8th edition, the conference aims to review the results of scientific research in the field of administrative research and education, provide research papers and proposals to manage the Asian issues in 2019. The conference focuses this year on social responsibility, sustainability and management: problems and strategies in Asia.

Prof. Frank Bostyn, Dean of the College of Business and Economics, UAEU said, “We are pleased to organize the 8th Asian Management Case and Research Conference at the United Arab Emirates University. This conference is a joint effort of institutes operating in Pakistan, India, Bangladesh, Malaysia and UAE.  As the connection between the bottom line and a company’s environmental, social, and governance practices is becoming obvious, it’s imperative for businesses to take care of social and environmental factors apparat from economic factors. To debate and explore this further, this year’s conference theme is ‘Social Responsibility, Sustainability, and Management: Issues and Strategies in Asia.’ The management challenges faced by businesses in South Asia and Middle East are pretty similar because of the similarities in cultural and societal factors. This conference provides a platform where management scholars can learn from each other and can come up with indigenous business models. The conference will not only help College of Business and Economics to improve its visibility among South Asian countries but will also open avenues for mutual collaborations. The conference theme is also aligned with Abu Dhabi Government vision 2030 of building a sustainable economy.”

Whilst Prof Abdulkarim Khan, College of Business and Economics and Conference Chair said, “This year we organized 8th Asian Management Case and Research Conference. We received 210 submissions. After a rigorous review process we accepted good-quality submissions. We will have 94 presentations, 4 keynote talks and 2 professional development workshops during three days conference. In terms of international representation we have participants from 12 different countries who will be travelling to UAE University to participate on the conference. To me we achieved our goal i.e.  Bringing diversity of researchers together to discuss problems faced by today’s organizations.”

In his presentation, Dr. Yahya Al Marzouqi, Executive Director of Strategy, Tawazun Economic Council highlighted that: "The digital world that humanity has been living in since the last decade and the requirements of the Fourth Industrial Revolution requires a human leadership of a different kind, creative and innovative, to meet the challenges of the future. Opportunities and risks include the increasing reliance on artificial intelligence in the business world and the economy, stressing the need to prepare workers capable of keeping pace with the changes and future developments expected by the Fourth Industrial Revolution, thereby enhancing the quality of business and creating new opportunities for achieving the fourth industrial revolution will bring major changes in the industrial and governmental sectors. This requires the existence of administrative and leadership minds capable of investing and managing these changes and risks in the business model adopted by investment and partnership with high-tech companies, and research and development institutions which was an innovative approach beyond the traditional framework of business and investment management. We will work on designing, developing and deploying a new collaborative framework to collectively reach solutions to today's challenges and for the future challenges facing humanity and create a safer and more secure world for the next generation.”

Professor Jonatan Pinkse –professor of strartegy,Innovation& Entrepreneurship at Manchester Business School in the United Kingdom, denoted to the concept of "corporate sustainability " and its applications to the business environment of the Asian continent, a broad concept encompassing many key issues in many fields such as Social, environmental and economic, where the application of this concept to most companies worldwide has become one of the most significant pillars of their strategic plans for long-term development and growth, emphasizing that the management of sustainability and what the global companies face in this framework entails understanding, and managing many variables like social, economic and environmental issues, which are often interrelated in how they are accomplished at the level of business needs and challenges on the Asian continent.

However , Professor Christopher Cowton ,financial Ethics of the Huddersfield Business School in the United Kingdom, has presented a paper, "conducting research on business ethics and Corporate Social Responsibility: Challenges and opportunities", as well as , Prof. Edwina Pio- Auckland University of New Zealand technology  "working paper on The Spiritual and Ecological aspect: learning across disciplines in institutions  "give a lecture on the spiritual aspect in the eastern environment and its impact on the business and the nature of relations among institutions and companies, concentrating on the spiritual connection to the environment surrounding the human and the diverse neighborhoods on the mankind, based on a deep insight into the nature of the relationships that are the fundamental of the continent's specificity and population and how to rethink on the influence of business and sustainability and growth strategies in combination with the continent's environmental variables and their effect on population, growth and long-term sustainability.

At the conclusion of the 8th Asian Management Case and Research Conference, the results of research papers and winning papers will be published in a number of prestigious scientific journals, specialized in management research and business studies for the Asia and the world.
