Special Abilities Club Delivers a Lecture on “Why we volunteer”

The Special Abilities Club in the Student Activities Department at the United Arab Emirates University (UAEU) delivered a lecture on “Why we volunteer” to UAEU students on Sunday 12th February in the IT auditorium.
The lecture was delivered by Dr. Sultan Karani and aimed to encourage a culture of volunteering. He pointed out that voluntary work also helps to develop you own skills and that UAEU is a great place to volunteer.
He discussed the definition of voluntary work, the reasons people do it, volunteering from an Islamic perspective, the principles of volunteerism and how to succeed in such endeavors.
