The College of Science at the United Arab Emirates University launches a campus science library

As part of the Year of Reading 2016, the College of Science at the United Arab Emirates University opened the new College of Science Library, on Sunday, October 16, 2016. Dr. Ahmed Murad, dean of the college, the chairs of academic departments, faculty and students were all in attendance.
Dr. explained that opening a science library is part of the college’s effort to promote scientific research and attract faculty and students to university. It should also serve to promote applied scientific research, increase skill levels across scientific disciplines and prepare students for the labor market. Another aim of this event is to develop a sense of patriotism among students and encourage reading as part of the university’s role in disseminating scientific knowledge throughout society. He also stressed that the College of Science strives to update information and digital content at all times and will focus on promoting the role of books in education and self-development.
The library contains the latest scientific publications and meets the needs of students, faculty and various scientific research centers. It is a modern resource containing specialized and general scientific magazines and journals from a variety of sources. These are all supplied by the University Libraries Department and the Decision Making Support Center at the Dubai police.
