The United Arab Emirates University celebrates UAE Flag Day

The United Arab Emirates University celebrated UAE Flag Day on Monday 2nd of November, 2015. This was in response to His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, inviting citizens to raise their flag as a an annual national event. It coincides with the day His Highness Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE, ascended to the Presidency. The celebration was carried out in the presence of His Excellency Dr. Ali Rashid Al Noaimi, Vice Chancellor of UAEU. The university leaders, officials and students.
His Excellency Dr. Ali Rashid Al Noaimi raised the flag in the courtyard of the Crescent Building on the Maqam campus. Then the students sang the national anthem accompanied by a military band before Saeed Al Ameri, son of a female student, recited a poem about defending the country.
This celebration was part of UAE Flag Day where loyalty, unity, national service and sacrifice were emphasized.
As well as UAEU, the national university, many ministries, state institutions, government and private entities participated in raising the flag on Tuesday at noon. They took great pride in the UAE flag as a symbol of national identity. The flag embodies values of belonging, loyalty and leadership.
