Vice Chancellor of the UAEU meets US Ambassador to the UAE

Dr. Ali Rashid Al Noaimi, Vice Chancellor of the United Arab Emirates University (UAEU), met with the US Ambassador to the UAE, her Excellency Barbara Leaf, in his office in the crescent building at UAEU’s new campus on Sunday 1/2/2015. The two parties discussed mutually beneficial research and cooperation.
Dr. Al Noaimi welcomed the US Ambassador and introduced her to the university and its many different faculties.He described the path UAEU has carved out for itself in higher education and scientific research and its leading role both regionally and in international terms. UAEU helps to supply the labor market with responsible graduates who help to shape the future and also looks forward to further student exchanges with US universities in order to intensify the academic and scientific benefits enjoyed by both countries. The US Ambassador also expressed the desire to enhance scientific, research-based, academic and other common pathways.
In her tour the Ambassador met with the deans of several colleges and was introduced
to the academic programs offered at UAEU: Bachelor’s, Master’s and Doctorate degrees.
She discussed means to boost academic cooperation between American universities and
UAEU and stressed that UAEU has a prestigious international reputation.
Ambassador Leaf was impressed by the laboratories, modern equipment and innovative
creations of the students. She was also briefed on the media studio in the College
of Information Technology, visited the Libraries Deanship and talked to a group of
students from the College of Humanities and Social Sciences.
