Academic Advising Support Center
The Academic Advising Support Center (AASC) coordinates, collaborates and communicates with all stakeholders from the different academic advising domains that form part of the advising community at the United Arab Emirates University (UAEU). It serves to support, guide and enhance advising activities from all sectors of the advising spectrum, in order to maintain high levels of service for the student body, and to ensure a smooth pathway for students to follow on their way to graduation.
When following their academic pathway at our university, students are supported by a team of different advisors. A number of academic and staff advisors help to keep students on-track to timely graduation, raise awareness of the resources and support facilities available within the university community and reach the required academic goals to ensure student success.
First Year Advisors are experienced educators who support new students through the transition period from high school to the first year at UAE University. Their role is both academic and administrative, helping students to use the tools required to plan and register for courses, while also supporting them on a one-to-one basis as a mentor and guide in the important period after arrival.

Course planning and full graduation plans are available through our dedicated educational planner, Degree Works. Advisors will help students follow their academic pathway through Degree Works, ensuring that students stay on-track and graduate on time. Full graduation plans (FGP), show the students the required courses for each semester, from entry to graduation.
Plans are only revised by negotiation between the student and their advisor, therefore ensuring that students move accurately through the curriculum timeline for their specific major. To know more about Degree Works, please visit our training page with a number of short videos that explain the different functions of Degree Works for both students and advisors:

CRM advise is our management information system for advisors, to help keep track of student progress, support students more accurately based on a variety of data received, and intervene if necessary to ensure a smooth pathway for the student throughout their academic journey. Students can also use the system to make appointments with their advisors, and faculty and instructors are able to flag any relevant issues to advisors at any early stage.
