Project Description

The project will involve the use of non-invasive brain stimulation (NIBS), like repetitive Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (rTMS) and transcranial direct-current stimulation (tDCS) and electroencephalography (EEG) in normal subjects and patients. The project will examine changes in brain dynamics and plasticity in normal aging and disease, looking for specific and sensitive brain-based markers (EEG response to stimulation) able to detect normal and abnormal plasticity. Prior experience with NIBS techniques and other clinical neurophysiology techniques (EEG, evoked potentials) is required.
